Study Tips for College Students

Have you run out of ways to study your material? Check out some of these ideas!

  1. Flash Cards
  2. Margins
    • Use the margins of your notes to write down definitions, questions, and diagrams. 
  3. Mind-Map
    • Write the main topic in the middle and move the concepts           outward.
  4. Teach 
    • Study notes and teach them to yourself, pet, or friend. 
  5. Diagrams
    • Using visual diagrams is often helpful when studying.​
  6. Write It Out
    • Sometimes writing out full ideas in sentences helps get it in your head.​
  7. Pomo Doro Technique
    • 25 min work+5 min break= 1 pomo doro
  8. Blank Page
    • Put away all notes and write what you can remember on a blank page. This helps with memory.
  9. Discus
    • Talking and thinking about the material regularly will help you to embrace the subject area. 
  10. Record Your Class
    • If your instructor allows it, record your class using audio or video recording, or record yourself explaining the topic and go back and listen to it.
